RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS

The first step in providing help is learning how to recognize abusive behaviours and the different kinds of family violence that exist.

When you are able to recognize the signs, you are better positioned to seek help and become an Engaged Bystander.

BYSTANDER HELP

A Engaged Bystander is someone who may witness or suspect an incident of Family Violence – it could be sexual assault, physical, emotional or financial abuse, or even bullying.

Being an Engaged Bystander may mean speaking

up, interrupting or intervening in violence that is occurring (when it’s safe to do so).
